Ginger McMurchie, CMC: Owner and Care Manager alca logo

Ginger McMurchie

Ginger McMurchie is a Certified Care Manager through the National Academy of Certified Care Managers, a member of the Aging Life Care Association and owner of Elder Care Management of Northern California. Ginger has an undergraduate degree from the University of California Santa Cruz and completed her graduate studies at the University of Florida’s Geriatric Care Management Program. She has held a Residential Care Facilities for the Elderly (RCFE) certificate with the State of California Department of Social Services since 2001. Ginger helped care for her father and mother-in-law during the late stages of their lives and has worked professionally with seniors and their families since 1998. With experience in assisted living and in-home care, Ginger’s expertise and compassionate ear help guide clients through difficult and complicated issues. She brings a strong passion for quality end-of-life care having been a respite volunteer for a local hospice agency. She has provided care management and speaking services for a statewide faith-based organization and speaks to local groups on care planning and crisis prevention and is an active volunteer for the Alzheimer’s Association.

Gail Arno

Gail Arno began her career in aging services in 1998, serving as a family consultant for a local placement agency. She actively educated and guided a generation of seniors and their families to resources and information available throughout the Greater Sacramento region. In 2010, she brought her experience and expertise to the team at Elder Care Management, providing service and oversight in the growing field of geriatric care management. Gail received a Bachelor of Science in History from UCLA and a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from CSU Northridge. She also completed a Graduate Certification program in Gerontology through CSU Sacramento, where she concurrently completed a six-class case management course certification. She is a California Residential Care Facilities for the Elderly (RCFE) certified administrator and is a state-approved instructor for RCFE administrator’s certification courses. Additionally, she is a volunteer for the Alzheimer’s Association and a Board Member for Del Oro Caregiver Resource Center. Gail is also a Certified Care Manager through the National Academy of Certified Care Managers and a member of the Aging Life Care Association (ALCA). Gail offers invaluable wisdom and extends gracious compassion and understanding to the clients and families she serves.

Felicia Juntunen, CMC: Care Manager alca logo

Felicia Juntunen

Felicia received her Bachelor’s degree in Social Work and a Master’s in Gerontology from California State University, Sacramento. She served as a student intern with Elder Care Management of Northern California and officially joined the care management team in 2013. Felicia is a member of the Aging Life Care Association and recently received her certification through the National Academy of Certified Care Managers (NACCM).  She also holds a Residential Care Facilities for the Elderly (RCFE) license with the California Department of Social Services and has volunteered as a caregiver support group facilitator for the Alzheimer’s Association of Northern California. As a care manager, she enjoys listening to the life stories of clients and identifying their strengths.

 

Piper Jackson: Care Manager alca logo

Piper Jackson is a full-time care manager and brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to Elder Care Management. Piper earned her undergraduate degree from California State University Sacramento and went on to obtain her Residential Care for the Elderly Certificate through the California Department of Social Services. Piper is also an active member of the Aging Life Care Association. She has worked in the senior industry for over 20 years starting with hands-on care experience, human resources, and eventually became the director of a group of local care homes. Her calm demeanor and compassion provide reassurance and trust with her clients.

 

 

Denise MacDonald: Care Manager

Denise MacDonald

Denise MacDonald joined Elder Care Management in March 2016. Denise graduated from Long Beach State with a Bachelor of Science in Sociology, with an emphasis in Gerontology. At that time she also took a certification class at USC in Gerontology. She then went back to school to become an RN. After working in Oncology, Denise was recruited to Visiting Nurses as a Home Health case manager. From there she transferred to Hospice care. While working for VNA in the South Bay Denise implemented and managed the first Hospice program in skilled nursing facilities. Denise was a Hospice case manager and preceptor for 25+ years. Denise has also been certified in chemotherapy and pain management.

 

Carole Henderson: Care Manager

Carole Henderson

Carole Henderson became part of the Elder Care Management team in January 2017. She has over 30 years of nursing experience with respected institutions in the field of medicine including the University of Michigan, Duke University, Kaiser, and Gilead Sciences. Along with direct patient care, her background includes neonatology, case management, clinical research, drug safety, medical device safety, and business ownership. Throughout her career, she has always enjoyed teaching both patients and families about their medical conditions and helping them live quality lives. She lives in Folsom with her husband and loves to be outdoors and take long walks.

 

 Judy Kent: Care Coordinator

Judy Kent

Judy joined Elder Care Management in October 2016 after a career in business.  She has an undergraduate degree in education and a Master’s in Business Administration.  Her interest in caring for the elderly was an outgrowth of her three years spent as the primary caregiver for her mother who battled dementia and Alzheimer’s.  Judy serves on the Board of Directors at Homeward Bound Golden Retriever Rescue and when she is not working with the elderly, she is working with dogs.

 

 

 

 

Nancy McMurchie: Accounting

Nancy McMurchie

Nancy McMurchie has been the lead in the Accounting Department of Elder Care Management of Northern California since 2011. Nancy has a BA in Communications from California State University, Chico, and has successfully operated her own graphic design business since 1998. In 2010, Nancy studied accounting at Los Rios Community College, completing courses in Financial and Managerial accounting. Nancy’s lifelong love of math and her meticulous attention to detail have made her an ideal fit for the ECM team. Nancy’s responsibilities include invoicing, payroll and the lovely graphic designs that ECM proudly uses. Nancy brings her compassion and wisdom to the group, having cared for her mother-in-law and her recently deceased father during the late stages of their lives.

 

 

Maureen Lawrence: Outreach Coordinator

Maureen Lawrence joined Elder Care Management in 2016 as an Outreach Coordinator. Maureen graduated with her Bachelors of Science in Psychology from Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo. She has prior experience in various fields, including marketing cardiovascular pharmaceuticals to area physicians. Most recently, she was a Community Liaison for a local hospice company, educating seniors and their loved ones about the benefits of hospice care. Maureen works part-time, balancing her position with ECM and raising her three very active boys.
